All the bowling shops in Johor we could find are in Johor Bahru. Strikers Bowling Proshop runs a street shop on Jalan Ngee Heng. X-Cel Proshop works inside Daiman Bowl in Taman Johor Jaya, and a third shop serves Lite Superbowl at Pelangi Leisure Mall. All three appear in the 2026 Storm VIP directory.

Where the shops sit
First, two of the three shops work inside bowling centres. Daiman Bowl's own site confirms a pro shop on the premises, and the Storm list names it X-Cel Proshop. Lite Superbowl in Taman Pelangi has its own shop with a Facebook page. By contrast, Strikers is a street shop near the city centre, with its address taken from Waze. It also runs an online shop through Facebook.
That split matters, because a centre shop lets you test the ball on the lanes right away. With a street shop, you'll take the ball to your centre and come back for adjustments. For lanes and game prices, see our bowling alleys in Johor page.
What we couldn't verify
So far, we found no listed shop outside Johor Bahru. Batu Pahat, Muar and Kluang bowlers will likely need to travel to JB. Also, the directory doesn't confirm drilling for any Johor shop, and none of them publish hours. The Lite Superbowl shop's unit number comes from a Facebook snippet only. So call ahead before you make the trip.
Getting fitted
Before you visit any of the bowling shops in Johor, prepare a few things:
- Your old ball, if you have one, so the driller can check your span.
- The weight of the house ball you bowl with now.
- Any wrist support you wear.
- Your average and how many games you bowl a week.
After drilling, bowl a few frames and go back if anything feels tight. Small fixes like tape or a bevel are normal. Our drilling layouts guide explains what the driller may suggest.
Nearest alternatives and buying tips
Melaka and Negeri Sembilan have no listed pro shop. As a result, JB is the main option for the far south, and the Klang Valley is the next stop north. See bowling alleys in Melaka if you bowl there.
Still, the JB shops only list Storm-group brands. For Brunswick, Hammer or Ebonite, X Proshop's web store delivers in 2 to 5 working days. However, ask your local driller about the fee for an outside ball first. Web-store prices in October 2026 ran from RM550 to RM710 for entry reactive balls and RM800 to RM990 for mid-range ones. Our pro shop directory covers every state.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I buy a bowling ball in Johor?
The 2026 Storm VIP directory lists three Johor Bahru shops: Strikers Bowling Proshop on Jalan Ngee Heng, X-Cel Proshop at Daiman Bowl in Taman Johor Jaya, and the pro shop at Lite Superbowl in Pelangi Leisure Mall. All sell Storm, Roto Grip and 900 Global balls.
Which pro shop in Johor drills bowling balls?
Daiman Bowl's own website confirms a pro shop on site, and that's X-Cel Proshop. The directory doesn't say which shops drill, though most centre pro shops in Malaysia do. Call 07-354 8313 for X-Cel, or WhatsApp Strikers, and ask before you bring a ball.
How much does ball drilling cost in Johor?
We found no published Johor drilling price. In Malaysia, drilling is usually free when you buy the ball at the same shop. For a ball you bought elsewhere, ask for a quote first, and check whether finger inserts and thumb slugs cost extra.
Do Johor pro shops sell bowling shoes and bags?
The Lite Superbowl shop's Facebook page mentions balls, shoes, bags and accessories. The other two list Storm-group products, which include bags. Shoe sizes in stock vary, so ask before you go. Malaysian web stores listed entry shoes from about RM160 in 2026.
