The 2025 IBF World Championships ran from late November into December at Kai Tak in Hong Kong. Adelia Nur came through the women's singles group stage and then won her semi-final. Along the way, MTBC reports, she beat Singapore's Shayna Ng.
In the final on 27 November she met Finland's Essi Pakarinen. Pakarinen won 2-0, by 217-191 and 214-169. Even so, the silver was Malaysia's best individual result of the championships. Malaysia left Hong Kong with four medals, including women's team silver after a 2-1 loss to the USA in the final.
Double gold at the World Youth Championships
Malaysia hosted the 2026 IBF World Youth Championships at Megalanes Sarawak in Kuching, from 27 June to 7 July. MTBC says 218 athletes from 34 federations took part. For the hosts, Adelia Nur was the standout.
First, she and Adania Mohd Redzwan won the girls' doubles. In the semi-final they beat a Swedish pair 226-192, 257-144. Then, in the final, they beat the USA's Erin Klemencic and Elizabeth Teuber 244-181, 207-201. MTBC says it was Malaysia's first girls' doubles world youth title since 2006.
On the same day, she won mixed team gold. The Malaysia 1 team of Ethan Damien Goh, Muhd Aiman Syahin Sulaiman, Adania and Adelia beat Finland 1 by 255-180 and 222-209. She also won bronze with the girls' team. So Malaysia finished second on the medal table, behind only the USA.
Sukma gold for Selangor
A month later she bowled for Selangor at Sukma 2026 at Sunway Mega Lanes. On 20 August, Adelia, Adania and Qurratu'ain Izdihar won the women's trio with 3,560 pins, ahead of Kedah (3,516) and Sarawak (3,449).
